Advices of the Pious Predecessors
A new blog has entered the islamosphere, which seeks to share the wisdom of past Muslims, may Allah be pleased with them:
Hadrat Abu Qilaaba narrates that Hadrat Abu Dardaa (Radiallahuanho) once passed by a person whom people were insulting for committing a sin. Hadrat Abu Dardaa (Radiallahuanho) said to them, “If you people found him lying in a well, would you take him out of it?” When they replied they certainly would, Hadrat Abu Dardaa (Radiallahuanho) said, Then do not insult your brother but rather thank Allah for safegaurding you (from the sin). “Do you not hate him?”the people enquired. Hadhrat Abu Dardaa (Radiallahuanho) replied, “I only hate his evil act. When he forsakes it he is my brother.”
Jazakallah to Fawaad Q for the tip.
