If one understands correctly,

Apostasy is greeko-latin apostatus, this
term is wrongly used by missionaries in Islamic
affaires, they have this erroneous practice of
applying all the “Christian terms” to muslims,
when a muslim converts to other religion he/she
comits “Irtedad ” came from Ra’d, rejecting, has to reject Mohammed SAW first, where as a
Christian or Jew converting to Islam does NOT
reject Moses or Jusus. Thus apostasy is uniquely for those Christians Cathlics who
converted to Protestantism.
