Protect your Dignity
An Islamic perspective on Facebook, with advice on keeping our secrets.
The Messenger of Allah (??? ???? ???? ????) said: “My entire nation is safe, except al-Mujahirin (those who boast of their sins). Among the Mujaharah is that a man commits an (evil) act, and wakes up in the morning while Allah has kept his (sin) a secret, he says: “O so-and-so! Last night I did this and that.” He goes to sleep while Allah has kept his (sin) a secret but he wakes up in the morning and uncovers what Allah has kept a secret!” [Saheeh al-Bukhari]

haha… you would be the one to post an entry about the dangers of Facebook!
I’m basically of the opinion of one of the commenters on that site - you can’t say Facebook is haram or halal in and of itself, it depends on how a person uses it. And certainly, a person can use it for good, just as a person can use it for evil. But of course, there’s a lot of temptation to abuse it, or to lose oneself in it, which is why I prefer not to register.
You can keep away for now, but you know it will snare you one day…
