Hopes for Pakistan

After one of the most turbulent years in Pakistani history, Adil Najam at All Things Pakistan lists seven wishes for restoring peace and order to the troubled region in 2008.

#1. Human Dignity. Human rights are all about dignity. So is development. Indeed, development is nothing except human dignity. Dignity comes from one’s work and worth being respected by others. Dignity comes from all of the other things I mention in this list. It is the sense that one is a full and equal member of society and also that society recognizes this fact. I wish that no Pakistani - rich or poor, but especially the poor - would even be deprived of human dignity.

  1. “Human Dignity. Human Rights are all about
    dignity” since when ?
    French Revolution ?
‘Univeral declaration of Human Rights 1948′
    ” after de-colonisation ” ?
Before, was there no dignity and Human Rights?
Only when the “colonials” decided to bestow up
    on Humanity ‘that’ dignity ?

“Development is nothing except Human dignity ” !

    Whose and which developoment ?
    or rather” progressism ” the coloniser’s ? the Raj’s? Uncle Sam’s ? Karl Marx’s ? mao’s ?

can we have some precise dated & epochs ?
    “Human Dignity/Rights” via work recognised
by the society, is that all ?
    “30 articles sufficent ?

  4. Hopes for Pakistan

I just happen to go through ATP’ recent
    secular revelations on Currency note’s
    inscriptions
    “Husool-e-rizq-e-halal ain Ibadat hay ”
    under title of the blog
“No more guilt trips on currency notes in Pakiistan ”
and viewing the silly biased and
    anti-Nazaria-e-Pakistan comments, I could’nt
resist offering this to urdu readers of your
    blog:

    Filbadiah arz hay,

‘Currency notes secular ki jeb mein’

    Husool-e-rizq-e-halal ain Ibadat hay,
siwaiy is kay, subbhi munafiqat hay
    likha hota agar hare-krishna-o-rama
subbhi nazar atay pichay bhagtay iskay
yehi hay asl maidan mein, in jayalon ki
ruffo chakkar, yehi becharay nazar atay.

  5. Today Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s 23rd PM
(if I am not mistaken)took oath on a very
Islamic text, a unique dignified text, but the
one taking and the one giving were both secular, hypocrites as they have announced
earlier that they were seculars, am so frustrated, listening to these backward colonial-roadside-landmarks, new PM is a Pir
from Gilani Gaddi of Multan, have to say:

PP kay pilatay rehay Shaikhon ki karamat,
mullah nehein, harem nehein, Pir hi sehhi
