Islamabad’s Straight Talk With Washington
Ahmed Quraishi on Islamabad’s Straight Talk With Washington.
The U.S. envoy to Islamabad is anticipating an attack on America ‘from Pakistani soil.’ It’s getting crazier every day. The next Pakistani government has to renegotiate the terms of our help in Washington’s war. The war has so far reflected their interests and none of ours. If Washington had any respect for its Pakistani ally, the government in Kabul today would have reflected a joint Pakistani-American strategic interest, and not just the U.S. interest. And why can’t we talk to the Afghan Taliban? Didn’t Karzai come here to meet late Mrs. Bhutto?
