The Rope of Allah

And hold fast, all of you together to the Rope of Allah, and be not divided among yourselves (3:103)

Umm Umar writes about what the Rope of Allah means to her in a moving poem.

The rope of Allah is anything we need it to be

To pull us safely back on His Path and away from His Wrath

The rope of Allah is dua, a step in the right direction, Money or time well spent The rope of Allah is a kind deed, a good word,

A ghusl taken for salat or a single day’s fast

The rope of Allah is in choosing not to go out, go away…

  1. Assalamu alaikum

I have to agree with the poet here. All of this is contained within the guidance of Quran and Sunnah.

I somehow feel that this verse is also an instruction to hold onto obedience to a CALIPH.I feel he is the only one who can guarantee “not divided among yourselves” on this earth.

I want to correct myself if i am wrong.

  2. Salaam Alaikum,
Actually, I was thinking of how Allah works in our unique, individual lives. Allah knows best if anyone will truly unite the believers except for Isa when he comes to defeat the dajjal. May Allah forgive my ignorance. May Allah grant you success.
