Emerald Art Competition

Emerald Art Competition

Hey everyone,

Big thanks to everyone who reads my rubbish. It’s good to know that I give something nice to read about. Actually, let me know where you guys are from. The furthest place I heard was Australia. I wonder if any of you guys can beat that and let me know if you come from anywhere interesting?!

Anyways, back to my post…….!!!

Okay, now for something a little bit different. In the UK there is a social network by the name of Emerald Network. Their vision is to enable Muslims to enhance their ‘Muslim network’ for their own benefit - whether that may be social or business purposes.

They have no political agenda, nor any affiliation to any other group or organisation, which makes them possibly the leading body in the UK with such a unique underlying set of principles and objectives.

This year they have a competition for the artist circle. Well…actually they have two competitions, one for arts and the other for photography. You’re entitled to enter one or both the competitions.

The 2008 Emerald Islamic Art & Photography competition gives you an opportunity to submit works and demonstrate your creativity.

ART COMPETITION - ‘faith inspired’ art with an “awaken your senses” theme.
PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION - ‘1 Faith, 0 Boundaries’ - representing the diversity within the Ummah, the faces and places.

The winner will be granted space at IslamExpo to display their works.

NOTE THE COMPETITION IS FREE TO ENTER - OPEN TO ENTRANTS ACROSS THE WORLD.

DEADLINE - the closing date is 30 June 2008. The winner will be announced at the start of July.

If you’re interested (like me) and want more exposure then check out the website for more information.

  1. “The furthest place I heard was Australia.” Furthest from where? :)

I was close to being in London around the time of the IslamExpo, but alas, those plans fizzled. It sounds like a good initiative, similar to MuslimFest around these parts.
