Another halfdate.com drive is about to come to a close. This one revolves around the miracle of dua (prayer). As well as asking readers to submit aadiya, and to volunteer for the ‘Dua Team’, the Half Date team also asked for inspiring dua stories. Scroll through the comments to find them. The following is my personal favourite:

There is one brother our family knew years ago whose faith in Allah SWT was so personified. May Allah bless him wherever he may be now. Lots of the power of dua stories I know are through him.

He narrated this true story:
He�d been working for the sake of Allah SWT, and for whatever reason, had nothing left at the end of the month to pay for the following month�s rent. His new wife (ask me another time about the power of dua that won him her hand) had left everything she�d ever known, including her country to follow him to the ends of the earth. He didn�t want to put her through the anguish of homelessness. So where did he turn? He made a sincere dua to Allah SWT.
And literally, the following morning, he was called up by a dear friend of his whom he hadn�t spoken to for ages. The conversation went something like this:

�Assalam Alaykum Abdul _________(the nameless hero of our story). I know we haven�t spoken in a long time and I really wanted to call you. You were in my dream last night. In it, I gave you $735.00. Tell me, brother, are you in need of that amount of money? I�m ready to send it to you.�

The brother started crying. It was the exact amount of his rent, subhan Allah.

I regret that I seem to loose my patience too often and fall into dejection.

I request you all to please pray to the Eternal and compassionate Allah S.W.T to help me and to help me soon.
I am only human and not worthy of tests.Ya Allah you have helped me in such times of need when there was no way ahead for me and no one there to help me.

Since my school days I have been seeking help from you with a faithful heart and you have showed me the way and created positive circumstances for me. I am eternally grateful to you for your miracles Ya Zuljalai wal Ikram and I seek your help once more.

If you abandoned me then you know that there is no one there to help me. I am ashamed to admit that I have strayed and sinned but I am remorseful now and don’t want to take any more wrong turns in life.

You are my Creator and my Sustainer and I know that your compassion is greater than your anger
YA ALLAH, please help me reunite with my love and please help me migrate and earn a living.

Ai Allah open her eyes and her heart and show her the right path, the path of islam. I Allah have mercy on me and her and our families. Ai Allah dont saparate true LOVE, for without your mercy i will break apart into a million pieces and so will Aarati.

9 Amna { 08.12.09 at 11:26 am }: I’m seriously touched by this above mentioned experience.Who can know better then me that how duas are answered .We were in severe crisis years back.And my whole family was unaware of namaz and Islam.Allah showed us the right path through some pious people.I remember my self making dua all the time.I heard a Hadees few days back that if Allah wills to give you some thing he’ll give you power to make dua.So keep making duas with firm faith.Don’t bring this thing in your mind if my dua will be answered or not,just think that your dua is being answered.I’ve no words to explain that your destiny can be changed with the power o dua.
