Haji Noor Deen

Hey everyone,

Okay people – I want to carry on the theme of calligraphers from last week.

Mainly because I don’t think I have highlighted them enough here.

So this week I have chosen one of my favourite calligraphers, Haji Noor Deen.

Haji Noor Deen Mi Guang Jiang is a renowned master of Arabic calligraphy. Born in 1963 in Shangdong province, China, he brings an immense learning in traditional thought and Islamic art to a modern audience, juxtaposing them in a new calligraphic style all his own, both Eastern and Western.

Personally I think he is brilliant and I was lucky enough to work with him on a collaboration project of mine.

  1. I am so behind on the Islamic Art scene, I didn’t know that Haji Noor Deen was so well known and respected when I saw him setting up his stand at the Islam Expo. His talent was clear though, just by looking at the work that he was hanging up, masha’Allah.
