Ayat al Kursi
Brother Sadiq Alam at Inspirations and Creative Thoughts talks about this great verse:
” The verses 255 to 257 of 2nd chapter of Quran is famously known as aayat al-kursi or verse of the throne. … the Prophetic tradition speak very high of the merit of the verses. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is recorded as saying that everything has a zenith, and the zenith of the Quran is Sura al-Baqarah; and as for verses, it is Ayat al-Kursi….”
The role of Muslim women in Dawah
Is da’wah only for men? Or is it equally the responsibility of men and women? Shifaa bint Mukhlis Miah takes us through a discussion regarding the relevance of da’wah for women and offers some suggestions:
“It is vital that husbands encourage their wives to participate in da’wah work. Unfortunately, not a lot of Muslim women feel that they know enough about Islam to share it with others. They need to realize that it is their responsibility to obtain that knowledge and then share it with others. ….Although many women are busy due to their responsibility as a wife, mother, cook, and teacher, inside their homes, etc – as with any fard, we must make time and organise our lives such that it becomes a centre point of our lives. What Allah Means
Farish at The Other Malaysia laments that “Allah” is not “the Muslim deity”, He is God. And we often don’t understand.
A Millenia of Science

The Earth was at the center of the universe. The movement of the stars above the moon decided the fate of the world below. This was the science of Aristotle.
The scholars of the new Islamic empire, established when the Roman Empire had given way to the Christian Byzantines, began to translate Greek books. They were astonished by the originality of the Greek sciences in measuring and determining the orbit of the stars. Whereas the Christians of that era had been extremely suspicious of such “pagan” texts, the Caliphate had been continuously absorbing books and sciences from Greece, Rome, Persia, India and else where, since the early days of its inception. During this time, the Greek sciences were subject to criticism and development; a process especially highlighted when they became difficult to reconcile with religion.
