| دسمبر ۱۹۸۹ | مقالات All-Pakistan General Convention — Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan
After 26 years, the All-Pakistan General Convention of Jamaat-e-Islami was held under the shadow of Minar-e-Pakistan from 8 to 10 November. By Allah’s blessings and the sincere efforts of party workers, the convention was successful and organized to the highest standards. All sessions concluded smoothly according to the scheduled agenda. We thank Allah and pray for continued dedication to elevate the word of truth and serve the cause of Islam.
Prior to the convention, a declaration was prepared under the guidance of the Ameer of Jamaat. This declaration outlined the party’s position according to the decisions of the Central Executive Council and the Shura Council, considering current circumstances. On 10 November, the declaration was presented before the attendees by the Ameer. It contained 20 points. The attendees unanimously approved each point. This declaration is now available for readers.
Current Situation in Pakistan
Pakistan came into existence due to the tireless struggle and sacrifices of Muslims of the subcontinent to uphold Shariah and establish an Islamic way of life. According to the declaration, Pakistan must become a true Islamic, democratic, and welfare-oriented state, where justice prevails, Islamic principles govern life, and Muslims live individually and collectively according to Quran and Sunnah.
However, after independence, the country deviated from its original mission. Instead of implementing Islamic systems, imitating non-Islamic nations led to injustice, oppression, and corruption. Authoritarianism in various forms took hold. The separation of East Pakistan is a glaring example, and today the country faces severe political, economic, and moral crises. Crime, abduction, and lawlessness are widespread, and citizens are not safe even in their homes. Government machinery is often helpless or complicit in injustices.
20-Point National Program
The convention presents a 20-point national program to address current crises:
Build Pakistan on Islam and pure Islamic principles.
Implement Quran and Sunnah as the supreme law and nullify conflicting laws.
Separate judiciary from the executive for justice-based governance.
Establish an independent and accountable institution for all officials.
Uphold Islamic morals, traditions, and laws under the Constitution.
Eliminate electoral fraud and misuse of government resources.
Reform education to align with Islamic ideology and provide uniform schooling.
Clean media from obscenity and promote Islamic values.
Restore law and order and take strict action against criminals.
Ensure merit-based employment and governance.
Remove weapons, drugs, and violence from educational institutions.
Protect women’s rights and establish separate universities.
Eliminate interest-based financial systems and implement Islamic finance.
Recognize and support Afghanistan’s interim government.
Support Palestine and oppressed Muslims worldwide.
Work toward a unified bloc of Muslim countries.
Promote moral and religious training and social reform.
Ensure rule of law and protection of civil rights.
Encourage economic justice, investment, and reduce poverty.
Promote national unity, brotherhood, and cooperation of all Islamic and political parties.
Conclusion
The convention emphasizes that establishing a true Islamic, democratic, and welfare state in Pakistan requires active citizen participation, strong leadership, and cooperation of all religious and political groups. Every citizen is urged to follow this program to actively contribute to national reform.
