Declaration of the International Conference

1. Background of the Conference

At the invitation of the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Mr. Siraj-ul-Haq, 55 leaders, scholars, and activists from over 30 countries participated in Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s public gathering. On this occasion, a key meeting of Muslim leaders from around the world was held on 24th November 2014 in Lahore.

The purpose of the conference was to provide a platform for global Islamic movements and political leaders to discuss and consult on critical issues. The session was chaired by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Mr. Siraj-ul-Haq, under the theme: “One Ummah, Shared Destination”.

2. Global Issues and Challenges

The conference agreed that the main reason for the world’s severe crises is the lack of justice and fairness, coupled with the misuse of power. Global economic systems and powers controlling science and technology have imposed their own rules, and double standards are applied universally.

3. Da’wah in Muslim Societies

The conference pledged that the work of Da’wah in Muslim societies will continue peacefully, with wisdom and insight. Any acts of violence or extremism will not change this policy. Change in the Muslim world should only occur through peaceful elections and voting.

4. Palestine Issue

The conference reaffirmed that Palestine is a core issue for the Muslim Ummah. It called on the global community to support the Palestinian people fully in securing their fundamental rights. The meeting strongly condemned Israel’s violations of Palestinian human rights and its plans to build Solomon’s Temple on the site of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

5. Gaza and Rafah

The conference demanded an end to economic blockades on Gaza and urged Egypt to keep the Rafah crossing open for the people of Gaza and actively participate in ending the sanctions.

6. Palestinian Resistance

The participants declared full support for the Palestinian people’s right to resist and struggle for freedom, in accordance with international laws.

7. Kashmir

The conference expressed full support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination and demanded the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions so that Kashmiris can achieve independence and autonomy.

8. Military Coup in Egypt

The meeting condemned the bloody military coup in Egypt, which deprived the people of their democratic rights, imprisoned the elected president, and dissolved the elected parliament.

9. Human Rights Violations in Syria

The conference strongly condemned ongoing genocide and bloodshed in Syria. It criticized global and regional organizations for their inaction and double standards. The participants stressed that the only solution is the removal of dictatorship and support for Syrian unity and the people’s revolution.

10. Oppression in Bangladesh

The participants strongly condemned the brutal actions against the opposition, especially Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, by the so-called government, urging international bodies to intervene immediately to prevent human rights violations.

11. Persecution of Rohingya Muslims

The conference condemned the atrocities against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, including genocide, denial of citizenship, and forced displacement. An appeal was made to the international community to stop these inhumane acts.

12. Other Issues

The conference rejected foreign interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, and Somalia. It condemned U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal areas and called on Arab authorities to respect freedom of expression and stop unfounded accusations against political opponents.

13. Prayer

The conference prayed for Allah to grant everyone the ability to serve humanity.
