سیّد ابوالاعلیٰ مودودی | مارچ ۱۹۵۷ | تحریک اسلامی کا آئندہ لائحہ عمل Important Meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan
In the third week of February, an important meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan was held in a small village called Machhi Goth in Bahawalpur Division. The meeting reviewed past activities of the Jamaat and discussed future plans, resulting in a formal resolution. The speeches delivered during the meeting are of significant educational value for those interested in the Islamic movement.
Program of the Jamaat
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan is grateful to Allah that the mission started fifteen years ago with a clear vision and commitment to principles has steadily progressed toward its intended goals. The program presented by the Ameer at the Karachi general gathering in November 1951 satisfies all theoretical and practical requirements and should continue to guide the Jamaat in the future.
Components of the Program:
Purification and Development of Thoughts Identifying righteous members, organizing and training them, and striving for collective reform.
Internal Reform Local units should form teams, address problems promptly, and seek external assistance if necessary.
Educational and Training Programs Continuous training for members, study of Quran, Hadith, and Islamic literature, establishment of educational institutions, and separate centers for women’s training.
Reform of Governance Increasing influence of Islamic values in the political system and establishing religious authority over governance.
Social Reform and Public Service Promoting ethical and religious awareness, preventing immorality, adult education, assistance to the poor and orphans, resolving public grievances, and guiding people in accordance with Islamic principles.
Awareness of Islamic Social Responsibility Raising awareness against corruption, dishonesty, and favoritism; ensuring justice in government institutions; and promoting societal reform based on Islamic teachings.
Summary
The program is based on four core components:
Ideological and practical reform
Internal reform and training of members
Academic research and literature development
Governance reform and societal improvement
Through this program, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan directed its members to implement it to the maximum extent and involve other Islamic and reform-minded elements in their communities.
