Third public meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami in Patna

The third general gathering of the Jamaat‑e‑Islami will be held at Patna. The scheduled date is 11–13 Jamadi ul‑Awwal 137, corresponding to 5–7 April 1947. As previously announced, this gathering is for all members of the Jamaat in Bihar, Bengal and the Imam’s regions.

1. It is obligatory for all members of the Jamaat to attend the gathering, except in the case of a valid religious excuse. For other circles: the local unit heads and where ten or more members are present, the local Ameer may select one representative for every ten members to attend. Attendance is not compulsory for the general membership or sympathisers.

2. Those intending to attend—whether members or sympathisers—should by March send notice of their intention to Syed Muhammad Chunch‑Fazla, Daughter of Jamaat‑e‑Islami, SultanGanji, India, Patna. If a group or unit is sending notification, the exact number of accompanying persons must be specified.

3. Women may also participate in this gathering, though attendance is not obligatory for them. Women wishing to attend should inform according to the above instructions.

4. Members of the Majlis‑e‑Shura should arrive by the evening of 3 April so that necessary consultation can take place before the gathering. Due to rationing difficulties, all participants are requested to bring two seer of rice and one pau of sugar for the days of the gathering. All friends should also bring their own food as a precaution.

5. Although the heat begins early in Bihar in April, a blanket or thicker cover should still be brought for bed.

6. Note: All participants are expected to abide by the Jamaat’s regulations during the gathering, maintain its seriousness and religious atmosphere, and fully cooperate. During the journey, they should observe Islamic decorum as far as possible and represent their sects correctly.
